DANA
Half-Assed Morning Show
All-time favorite bands/artists: Foo Fighters, Blink-182, Beastie Boys, and of course Bruce Fredrick Joseph Springsteen and the LEGENDARY E Street Band.
First Concert? The Up In Smoke Tour in 1997 when I was 12 with Dre, Snoop, Eminem, Ice Cube and Warren G. My date for the evening? My mother! She said I could only go if she chaperoned me. There were people smoking weed and women flashing the stage all around us. Quite the bonding experience.
First album you ever purchased? Beastie Boys – Hello Nasty. I remember walking out of the Sam Goody in the Burnsville Mall feeling like the coolest mother effer to ever live.
What show or streaming series is a MUST watch? Ted Lasso is the most brilliant and pure thing ever created. We, as humans, do not deserve something as wonderful as Ted Lasso.
Name a movie you could never get sick of watching? The Fast and Furious franchise
Greatest sports movie of all-time? Rocky IV
Favorite sports mascot? I really like Dinger (CO Rockies) because he is a dinosaur.
Favorite video game? I am very much an old-school Nintendo player. I have a Donkey Kong arcade machine in my living room and the Donkey Kong machine at Up Down has a plaque on it that says ‘Reserved for Dana Wessel.’
Describe your first car: Freddy Focus! 1998 champagne Ford Focus. I named him Freddy. Seeing that car get towed away when it was finally time for it to join the big junkyard in the sky was heartbreaking.
What topic(s) would you crush at trivia night? Fast and Furious, Nintendo, Springsteen, and anything involving the 2002 Minnesota Twins.
Favorite meal of the day? The handful or two of peanuts I inhale during the commercial break between the early sports break and Josh’s news.
Favorite potato chip flavor? Nacho Cheese Doritos.
Growing up, whose poster was on your bedroom wall? I had an entire wall in my room dedicated to the Sacramento Kings. Oh, and Shakira. I went through a big Shakira phase.
