Before he became a fixture on MTV in the late 90s, Dave Holmes was just a kid growing up in St. Louis, trying to come to terms with his sexuality. Holmes writes about his coming out process as a gay man in his funny new memoir Party Of One, which also covers Holmes’ love of pop culture and how the music he loves informed his life.
