The Minnesota United grabbed a big 2-1 win Sunday against Sporting Kansas City, the top team in the Western Conference. Scoring started early when Sporting scored in the 7th minute, quieting the crowd early. Franco Fragapane scored the equalizer in the 20th minute off of a Robin Lod redirect. Midfielder Emanual Reynoso scored the game winning goal off of a penalty kick in the 38th minute.

After an aggressive but scoreless second half from both teams, the Loons gained three much needed points.  With one game to play in the regular season, they sit in fifth place – two points out of fourth place and a home playoff game, and only three points ahead of eighth place and out of the playoffs.  The United will finish the regular season on the road against the LA Galaxy.
