NEW ALBUMS

IDLEWILDINTERVIEW MUSIC

Scottish 6-piece, Idlewild, are back with their second album since returning in 2013 from a 3 year hiatus.

Their 8th full length album, Interview Music, is out today and ranks among their very best.

MARTHALOVE KEEPS KICKING

The band, Martha, have a decidedly Midwestern sound to them, but they actually hail from Durham, England. Despite being from across the pond, the music (especially the guitar tone in “Love Keeps Kicking”) is quite reminiscent of Minnesota bands like The Magnolias, The Leatherwoods, The Evening Rig, Farewell Milwaukee, et. al.

PERIPHERYPERIPHERY IV: HAIL STAN

D.C. prog-metal heads, Periphery, have released their 6th long-player entitled Periphery IV: HAIL STAN.

PRIESTSTHE SEDUCTION OF KANSAS

Another band from D.C., Priests have followed up their critically lauded debut album (2017’s Nothing Feels Natural) with another album of danceable post-punk.

The Seduction of Kansas was produced by John Congleton, who is known for his production work for Baroness, Spoon, Okkervil River, Better Oblivion Community Center, The War on Drugs, The Toadies, Modest Mouse and many more.

PUPMORBID STUFF

PUP released one of the best albums of 2016 (11th best of the year according to NYT‘s Jon Caramanica) when they released The Dream Is Over.

The Canadian punks are back with Morbid Stuff, which one 93X-staffer (you wouldn’t know their name if we revealed it) has already declared “…it’s great! Definitely their best work yet…”

WEYES BLOODTITANIC RISING

Weyes Blood (pronounced “wise blood”) has released her fourth album, Titanic Rising. The great reviews are already rolling in for the psychedelic soft rock of Titanic Rising and will likely make many of the critics’ Best of 2019 lists.

How to describe the music? To simplify it, we’d compare it to one of 2018’s best albums, Father John Misty‘s God’s Favorite Customer. Natalie Marling (aka Weyes Blood) contributed vocals to that album’s title track.

MIKE ADAMS AT HIS HONEST WEIGHTPRESSING MESH

This week, he’s announced the forthcoming There Is No Feeling Better album and released “Pressing Mesh” as the lead single.
