“Back in 2009, my then-boyfriend and I thought it would be nice to introduce his dad to my mom, since they hadn’t met yet (they were both divorced). On Valentine’s Day, we all went to a fancy restaurant for dinner. My mom got drunk and decided the bill was too much, so she left without paying. Then we went to a bar down the street. They disappeared, and I was informed I needed to leave because it was a 21+ event, and I was not old enough to be there. We didn’t have a car because his dad was driving, and they were nowhere to be found. It was below-zero temperatures, and we were sitting outside the bar because they had kicked me out. We finally got a friend to pick us up and drive us to my boyfriend’s/his dad’s house. We went inside and found our parents in bed, having sex. Both of them were completely trashed by then. I got my car and went to take my mom home. My car broke down a couple of miles into the trip. I had to call my then-boyfriend to come get us and drive us to her house. His dad decided to come along as well. It was a very awkward car ride. They never spoke to or saw each other again after that. I was absolutely mortified by the whole thing at the time, but now, looking back, I can laugh about it.”
