MARSHALL ALLEN – NEW DAWN
Saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist Marshall Allen has been a member of The Sun Ra Arkestra since 1958 and took over as the band’s leader in 1995 after the deaths bandleaders Sun Ra in 1993 and John Gilmore in 1995. New Dawn is notable for being Marshall Allen‘s debut solo album(!) at the age of 100.
