The Minnesota United FC looked like the better team for most of Saturday night’s home opener against Real Salt Lake, but lost in the final tally 2-1. The United gave up two first half goals to Anderson Julio. Robin Lod scored the first goal of the season for the United in the 86th minute, but the team could not come up with an equalizer before time expired.
The United’s next game is Saturday May 1st at home against Austin FC, the newest MLS expansion franchise. This was the first match with fans in attendance at Allianz Field in over a year.
