30 SECONDS TO MARS have been touring the world ever since April of this year behind their newest album, This Is War.  The band is currently in Europe playing festivals, including the UK's Download festival, Germany's Rock-Am-King festival and Scotland's T in the Park festival.  And now it's just been announced that the band will return to the U.S. to play more shows, starting August 31st in Syracuse, New York. 

Singer JARED LETO says fans who attend a 30 Seconds to Mars concert will experience "slighly controlled chaos."  He describes the live shows as "an adventure."  Leto says he feels his "job on stage is to make sure that everybody in that place is connected and alive and in the moment."  He also feels the live shows are the "most important part of who we are as a band" and it's "a gift to be able to stand on that stage and to share this collectively with this community around the world." 

The band's current single, "This Is War," ranks at number two on the alternative rock charts and has been there for the last six weeks.  The song, according to Leto,  is one that "really could be dedicated to anyone who's ever been up against the wall or gotten to the point where enough is enough and they're ready to fight for what they believe in."  But Leto also describes the song as "uplifting," adding, "t's very positive.  It's a very optimistic song."
